Solar PV & Battery Storage Case Studies
Real renewable energy projects designed and installed by Green Energy Systems across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and the surrounding areas.
Every property is different. These case studies show how carefully designed solar PV, battery storage and energy management systems can reduce grid electricity use, improve energy independence and deliver long-term financial savings.
Our case studies include system design details, annual electricity consumption, installed equipment, performance results and expected return on investment.

Domestic Solar PV & Battery Storage Case Study
13 kWp Solar PV System | 40 kWh Battery Storage | 8 kW Single-Phase Inverter
A high-consumption domestic property using 13,235 kWh of electricity per year. Green Energy Systems designed and installed a solar PV and battery storage system to significantly reduce grid reliance, improve self-consumption and maximise long-term savings.
Annual electricity use: 13,235 kWh
Solar PV array: 13 kWp
Battery storage: 40 kWh
Inverter: 8kW single-phase
Estimated result: 62% reduction in grid electricity use
Installed by Green Energy Systems Ltd — MCS certified, RECC member and fully insured.
COMMERCIAL SOLAR PV Case Study
49 kWp Solar PV System | Battery Ready Storage | 49 kW Single-Phase Inverter
A 49.2 kWp commercial solar PV system designed for a custom cabinetry manufacturer in Devon with annual electricity consumption of approximately 74 MWh.
The system uses 74 high-output Aiko modules and is projected to generate 36,300 kWh annually, reducing imported electricity and delivering an estimated four-year payback.
Annual electricity use: 74 MWh
Solar PV array: 49 kWp
Battery Ready: Storage capacity up to 250 KWh
Inverter: 50kW C&I Three-phase
Carbon reduction: Approximately 6.4 tonnes CO₂e per year using the 2025 UK grid electricity factor of 0.177 kg CO₂e/kWh
Estimated result: 50% reduction in grid electricity use
Installed by Green Energy Systems Ltd — MCS certified, RECC member and fully insured.

High-Consumption Domestic Solar & Battery Case Study
9 kWp Solar PV System | 30 kWh Battery Storage | 2 × 4 kW Cascaded Inverters
Green Energy Systems designed a high-capacity solar PV and battery storage system for a large domestic property in North Hampshire with significant year-round electricity demand.
The property includes a heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, electric Aga and EV charging, creating a complex load profile that required more than a standard solar installation.
The system was designed to maximise solar self-consumption, store excess generation for later use and take advantage of lower-cost overnight electricity during winter.
Annual electricity use: 13 MWh
Solar PV array: 9 kWp
Battery Storage: 30 KWh
Inverter: 2x4KW single phase cascaded inverters
Major loads: Heated pool, sauna, steam room, electric Aga and EV charging
Operating strategy: Solar charging in summer and overnight tariff charging in winter
Estimated result: Significant reduction in peak-rate grid electricity use
Installed by Green Energy Systems Ltd — MCS certified, RECC member and fully insured.
