Domestic Solar PV Systems Designed Around Your Energy Use

We design solar PV systems around how your home actually uses energy — analysing consumption, roof potential, battery requirements, inverter power, electricity tariffs and future loads such as EVs and heat pumps.

Our Domestic Solar Installation Process

Understand → Design → Explain → Challenge → Refine → Install

Understand

We start with your electricity consumption, property and future plans. Where available, we analyse 30-minute smart-meter data to understand when you actually use energy.

Design

We model solar generation, battery capacity, inverter power and tariff opportunities to create a system around your real energy requirements.

Explain

We take you through the proposed system so you understand how it works, why each component is included and the expected financial performance.

Challenge

We test the design against alternatives, DNO constraints, future loads and your priorities. Equipment that doesn’t deliver sufficient value is removed.

Refine

We adjust the design with you, considering budget, EVs, heat pumps, hot tubs, pools and other future changes to your energy use.

Install

Once the design is agreed, we complete the installation, commissioning and certification and show you how to operate and optimise the system.

How We Size Your Solar & Battery System

There is no single “correct” solar or battery size for every home. We start with your actual electricity consumption and, where available, analyse 30-minute smart-meter data to see when energy is being used — not simply how many kWh you consume each year.

We then consider roof space and orientation, expected solar generation throughout the year, battery capacity, inverter power, electricity tariffs and DNO export constraints. Future requirements such as an EV, heat pump, hot tub or swimming pool can also materially change the design.

The objective is not to install the most equipment possible. It is to identify the combination of solar, battery and inverter capacity that delivers the best long-term value for your home.

Why Inverters matter?

Battery capacity tells you how much energy can be stored, but inverter power determines how much electrical power the system can deliver at any one time. A large battery paired with an undersized inverter may still require significant grid import when several high-power appliances operate together.

We assess your home’s actual demand and likely simultaneous loads — including EV charging, heat pumps, induction cooking, hot tubs and other high-power equipment — when selecting inverter capacity.

This is why we design the solar array, battery and inverter as one energy system, rather than sizing each component independently.

Tariff Strategy

A battery does not have to rely solely on surplus solar generation. With the right electricity tariff, it can also charge from the grid when electricity is cheapest and supply your home when import prices are higher.

The optimum strategy changes throughout the year. In summer, solar generation may provide most of the battery charging. During winter, when solar generation is much lower, charging overnight on a low-cost tariff can significantly improve the economics of the system.

We consider solar generation, your consumption profile, battery capacity, inverter power and available tariffs together. For homes with an EV, access to low-cost overnight electricity can make this integrated approach particularly valuable.

Green Energy Systems designs and installs tailored domestic solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems across Hampshire and selected neighbouring areas. Every system is designed around the property, roof space, electricity use, future plans and local DNO requirements.

We design domestic solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems for homes across Hampshire and selected neighbouring areas, with every recommendation based on the property, electricity use, roof layout and future plans.

Why Choose Solar for Your Home?

Lower Electricity Bills

Use the electricity your panels generate during the day and reduce how much you buy from the grid.

Use More Clean Energy

Power your home with low-carbon electricity generated directly from your roof.

Use Solar After Sunset

Store excess solar energy and use it later in the evening, overnight, or during peak-rate periods.

Greater Energy Independence

Reduce your exposure to changing energy prices and make better use of your own electricity.

Add Value to Your Property

A well-designed solar PV system can make your home more efficient and attractive to future buyers.

Smart System Monitoring

Track generation, usage, and savings through easy-to-use monitoring apps.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Homes

We install domestic solar systems for detached houses, semi-detached homes, terraced properties, bungalows, home offices, garages, outbuildings, and properties looking to add battery storage or EV charging in the future.

Smarter Energy for Modern Homes

Domestic solar panels are one of the most effective ways to reduce your reliance on the grid and protect your household from rising electricity costs. We design and install solar PV systems tailored to your property, roof space, energy usage, and future plans.

Whether you want a straightforward solar panel installation, a solar and battery package, or an upgrade to an existing system, we provide honest advice and a professional installation from start to finish.

Make the Most of Your Solar with Battery Storage

Adding battery storage allows your home to use more of the electricity your solar panels produce. Instead of sending unused energy back to the grid, your battery stores it so you can use it when your household needs it most.

This is especially useful for homes where energy use is higher in the evening, or for customers on smart tariffs who want more control over when they import and use electricity.
